Great Experience at Crowne Plaza. We stayed here only 2 nights at the end of our trip before flying back home. The room was spacious and clean, the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was just as clean. The breakfast was good (note for vegans: it was possible for us to eat the breakfast even with the limited vegan options. We had Gallo pinto, vegetables and potatoes and a lot of fruits. Definitely enough for breakfast). As for the service we received, it was excellent. We asked where we could do a Covid test before our flight and someone came to the hotel, we didn't have to go anywhere. They also organized a free airport shuttle for us. Everything went smoothly.

The staff was amazing! They sent a van to the airport to pick us up and they were waiting when we stepped out of the airport. The driver (I believe his name was Mr Bradford) was exceptional! On the drive, he told us a lot about Costa Rica, including the traditional meals and he pointed out several spots we might want to visit. The ladies working at the desk were so helpful! They helped us with exchanging money, setting up tours and getting a taxi. The room was very clean and comfortable. Our room was cleaned each day and they even picked up any clothes left out and rolled up our phone cords.

Hotel is big, clean, modern and we'll run. Staff friendly and efficient. Useful help desk at reception gives good advice and will arrange taxis. Hotel food average prices, decent quality. Breakfast absolutely fine. Good general indoor area and outside pool area. Didn't use the gym but it looked clean and equipped. The room was comfortable and clean. Good for a short stay. Note that this is a big modern functional hotel, it has no special local character. From here you can walk to the centre in about 30 minutes. Big park and museum of modern art close by. Local area has not much otherwise.

Crown Plaza was our last stay of a three week trip through Costa Rica before we flew back the next day. It was perfect exactly for that purpose, I would not pick it for sightseeing in San José. The rooms are spacious, it is a hotel on global level and offers everything you need. We clearly enjoyed to have a well working hot water shower again :-) The pool area is very nice and you can easily spend some time there. There is a beautiful park right around the corner to also spend time. Value for money was clearly given, e.g. compared to the hotel we stayed in when we arrived in San José.

It was really nice having a king bed with nice cozy sheets and a big shower for our last day in Costa Rica. The breakfast was pretty good, the drinks at the bar were good too. There’s a big grocery store right across the street. Walking distance to downtown (for people who like walking) or a few minutes if I’m an Uber. Free airport shuttle!
